🍼 What Is a Vented Teat?

A vented teat allows air to flow in and out as your baby sucks, causing the teat to gently flatten in their mouth.
Most popular dummy brands use vented teats, including BIBS, Frigg, Avent, Nuk, and more.

After sterilising, you may notice water inside the teat — simply squeeze out any excess water before giving it to bub.

🫧 Sterilising Instructions

• Place the dummy in a cup of boiling water for 5 minutes
• Remove and allow to air‑dry
• Do not leave the dummy submerged longer than 5 minutes — extended soaking can thin the natural rubber
• Do not boil on the stove — this may cause burn marks or melting
• Keep out of direct sunlight
• Refer to packaging for full care instructions

If water enters the teat, gently squeeze it out before use.

🔄 Replacement Timeframe

Replace every 4–6 weeks.

Signs it’s time to replace include:

• Swelling
• Stickiness
• Changes in texture

This 4–6 week guideline applies to all natural rubber pacifiers worldwide.
